Yard A customary unit used to measure length; 1 yard = 3 feet. The abbreviation for yard is "yd."
Y-Axis The vertical axis; the line whose equation is x = 0.
Year The time it takes the Earth to make a complete revolution around the sun; since it takes 365 and 1/4 days, most years have 365 days, with an extra day added every four years (this year is referred to as a leap year).
Y-Intercept The point when a graph of an equation crosses the y-axis.
